Egypt's El Gouna Film Festival has concluded its ninth edition, marking nine days of film screenings and industry events. The festival's closing night saw Mohammed Hammad's psychological drama "Safe Exit" receive the top prize. The film centers on a young Coptic security guard in Cairo grappling with trauma stemming from religious violence.
The festival also highlighted a push to discover new talent within Arab television and showcased Egyptian filmmakers exploring new boundaries. The event served as a significant platform for films and industry professionals from across the Middle East and beyond.
