The Milwaukee Brewers have won their first World Series championship in franchise history, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 on Wednesday night. This victory ends a 57-year championship drought for the Brewers and marks a historic achievement for the club.
The decisive Game 5 saw a strong performance from young pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who threw five and two-thirds scoreless innings, stifling the Rays' offense. Cooper Pratt provided crucial support with two RBIs, including a go-ahead home run, as Milwaukee closed out the series.
This triumph follows a dramatic Game 4, where the Rays forced a Game 5 by staging a stunning 12th-inning comeback to defeat the Brewers 4-3. That win, however, proved to be a temporary reprieve for Tampa Bay as Milwaukee ultimately secured the championship in the subsequent game.
