FIFA President and Bernardo Silva Honor Cristiano Ronaldo After Portugal Retirement

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Real Madrid's Bernardo Silva have paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo following his retirement from international football. The legendary Portuguese forward concluded his illustrious 23-year career with the national team after 234 appearances and 146 goals, a decision he announced via social media.

Ronaldo's departure marks the end of an era for Portuguese football, during which he led the team to victory in Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League. While his retirement was anticipated by some, the outpouring of respect from football's governing body and fellow players underscores his significant impact on the sport. Discussions surrounding his evolving role in recent tournaments and a reported rift with the manager have been cited as contributing factors to his decision.
