Russell Brand Defense Argues Against 'Psychopath' Label in Closing Arguments

Russell Brand's defense team has concluded their closing arguments in his ongoing trial, asserting that the comedian is not "some kind of psychopath who rapes people and thinks it's normal." Lawyers argued that Brand believed all sexual encounters were consensual, citing his behavior during and after the alleged incidents as evidence.

The defense also contended that a 2023 Channel 4 documentary about Brand "poisoned the well of justice deliberately" and "fundamentally corrupted" the accusers. The trial, which began on October 12, involves charges of rape, sexual assault, and attempted indecent assault against six women, spanning a decade from 1999. Brand denies all charges.

During the third week of the trial, both Brand and his wife provided testimony. The jury is now set to deliberate on the seven charges.
